What services do you provide?

GW & Wade provides comprehensive tax planning and preparation, investment management, retirement, and estate planning. We serve individuals and their families, as well as providing personal financial counseling for the executive management teams of public and private companies.

What is your fee structure?

We structure our fees to suit each client engagement.

What is the minimum portfolio size you manage?

We do not believe in a minimum portfolio size. Our preference is to have a preliminary conversation to see if we can be helpful. Our goal is to fully understand the financial circumstances of prospective clients to ensure the relationship makes sense for everyone.

When should I engage an advisor?
  • Prior to a liquidity event or when you have other life events, such as marriage, divorce, baby, death in the family, new job, inheritance, retirement, or even buying a home
  • When you outgrow, or become unhappy with, your current financial advisor or other professional advisors
  • When your net worth is likely to go up significantly in the coming years
  • When you are thinking about what retirement will look like and how to get there
  • When you are just starting out and want to build a solid foundation and financial plan
What makes GW & Wade different?
  • We provide tax planning and preparation of all tax returns. We find that effective, professional tax work can have as positive an impact on our clients’ situations as portfolio management. We file taxes for over 50% of our planning clients. (Although if you have not outgrown your CPA, we are happy to work with them.)
  • We are an independently managed wealth management firm. This structure supports our goal of making our clients’ best interests our number one priority.
  • We have over 36 years of industry experience with a myriad of professional designations, advanced degrees, and licenses ranging from JDs, MBAs, CPAs, CFPs®, CFAs®, and Investment Advisory Licenses to Masters in Taxation.
  • We work hard to get to know our clients and strive to build a solid long-lasting relationship built on mutual trust. The firm brings an independent, objective approach to managing wealth.

How would you manage my money?

We start by listening to you. We spend a great deal of time getting to know you and your loved ones personally and begin to build a trusting relationship that will grow over time. We want to know how long we have to try to achieve your goals, your attitude about risk, and the assets you have today. Once we understand your complete asset, investment, tax, and estate picture, we can develop an efficient portfolio. We then monitor the portfolio elements making changes as necessary and staying in regular contact.

What types of investment vehicles do you use?

Vehicles can include index funds, ETFs, actively managed mutual funds, separate account managers, hedge funds, stocks, bonds, long/short funds, hard asset funds, and a select few private equity funds. Each client portfolio is built with solutions to achieve the best possible result for our clients. Our approach aligns our advice with our clients’ requirements, with an eye toward risk, returns, and fees.

Are my assets safe?

Most client accounts are held at National Financial Services LLC (NFS), a Fidelity Investments Company. NFS is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). In addition, NFS provides additional coverage that is the maximum “excess of SIPC” protection currently available in the brokerage industry.

How do I become a client?

To start, please give us a call (or send an email to info@gwwade.com) with the best number and time to contact you. You will then spend a few minutes talking to us about your specific situation, your priorities, issues of immediate importance, and any other specifics we might need to know before we have you come in to meet with one of our counselors.

If it sounds like we might be a good fit for your needs, we then set up a one-hour complimentary consultation to listen to your concerns and get a deeper understanding of your financial opportunities. Should we mutually decide to move forward, we will provide you with a written proposal of our services and fees. If you would like to move ahead with the proposal, we would execute an advisory agreement. We then give you a list of documents to provide to us for review, to help us begin your financial counseling. Once we have your documents we will have a series of meetings to build you a solid financial plan.
